August Retiree Report There
comes a time in a person's life when nothing means more than
the happiness of our young ones. This is why we find it
so important to have Grandparents/Grandkids Day on a beautiful
summer day. These grandchildren have told us that they
look forward to this event and cannot wait until next
year.
Just look at these pictures and the kids faces. This is what makes life so precious and memorable. This is our future generation. What the kids enjoyed was the pony rides, snow cones, jumping rides, face painting and the bicycles we gave away. By the way, the winners of the bikes were Garret Burns, Grandson of John Yeutter and Reagan Heck, Granddaughter of Charlie Conley. The carriage ride and the balloon clown was also a success. Defiance City Fire Department showed us one of their fire trucks; it is always a pleasure to have our public servers here. We served Ball Park all beef hotdogs, with your choice of chili sauce, onion, pickle relish, mustard and ketchup. You also got potato chips and brownies. It takes a lot of work to put this event on, so we would like to thank all the helpers who went above and beyond to make this day so wonderful for our grandkids. I'll ask you again to see all the happy faces on these pictures; just plain priceless. In Solidarity, Ivan Burgei Local 211, UAW Retiree Recording Secretary |
