FISHING DERBY 2017

On October 15th the Recreation Committee hel a Fishing Derby at the UAW Hall. Despite the rain and gusty winds we had a great turnout with 28 children in attendance. You could tell they were all true fishermen because they came in galoshes and rain gear.

The first fish was caught by Maddy Whitaker; the largest fish at 25 inches was caught by Silas Shaffer. The smallest fish of 3 1/4 inches long waas caught by Rachael Ward and Hayden Veers. Maddy Whitaker caught 22 fish while Silas Shaffer was close behind her with 19 fish caught. Each child that day received a door prize. We would like to thank all of the adults who took the time to bring their children and grandchildren to this event; it was certainly a day of fun. No turtles or frogs were pulled from the pond this year. We look forward to seeing you at our next Fishing Derby in the future.
